Rust Inspection and Assessment

Every job begins behind a clipboard and a set of work lamps. Our technicians walk the whole body shell, tap the lower sills, look inside every box section for scale and map each blister against a garage drawing so you can see in plain daylight what is hiding under the paint before a single panel is touched. We probe the wheel arches, the door bottoms, the seams around the boot and the footwells beneath the carpets, because rust almost never announces itself at the surface it attacks last. The finished report marks every weak spot on a panel map of the car, rings each area of concern in red and tells you in plain terms which steel must be cut away and which can simply be treated and sealed. With that map in hand you can decide exactly where your money goes, safe in the knowledge that nothing important has been missed and nothing cosmetic has been oversold.

Panel Rust Repair and Replacement

When corrosion has eaten a wheel arch or a door edge past the point of honest repair we cut clean and fit fresh steel. When the panel can be saved we grind down to bare metal, patch the section, weld the seam and dress the surface flat so the replacement becomes one continuous piece of body. We take care to match the line and the curve of the surrounding metal so that the new steel does not stare out through the final coat of paint, and we weld only after the surrounding area has been cleaned of every trace of old sealer and scale. The finished repair is smoothed to a level surface, treated so that it holds its protection, and handed back to you ready for primer and colour rather than left as a quick cover that rust will find again within a year.

Undercarriage Treatment and Coating

The underside of a car is the first place winter salt finds weak steel. We lift the body, blast the chassis rails, treat every seam against creep and lay a protective skin so the delicate underside no longer gathers moisture in the places that go unseen for years. We work through every boxed rail and mounting point, removing loose scale, cleaning back to sound metal and brushing a rust inhibitor into each cavity before the protective coating goes on. Where a clip or a line could trap water against the metal we set it back and reseal so that the vulnerable seam drains freely instead of holding dampness against the steel all winter. The result is an underside you no longer need to dread lifting, with the deepest structure of the car guarded by the same care we give to the panels you can see.

Classic Car Restoration

Vintage panels deserve a patient hand. We bring a classic body back to its original lines, keep the correct trim and fasteners close to factory while quietly improving the steel underneath, and finish each car so its character shows up on the road rather than fading away inside a garage. A classic is never just another work order, so we sit down with the owner first, photograph the honest state of the shell and agree how original the finished car should stay. From there the work follows the bay discipline that keeps a forty year old door matching the day it was stamped, and when the final panel is fitted the car reads as one clean machine rather than a patchwork of repairs.

Paint Correction and Refinishing

A faded roof or a scratched door does not need to stay that way. We cut back clearcoat, correct the swirls and repaint the injured panel in fresh primer and color, matching the tone of the surrounding body so the finish reads smooth across the whole bay light. When a repaint is needed we blend the shade carefully against the neighbouring panels, working under even light so no hard line reveals where the new coat begins and the old one ends. The surface is levelled and polished back to a deep, even gloss that catches the bay lamps without the haze or orange peel that betrays a hurried job. Paint is the final seal a restored panel wears, and we treat the last coat with as much discipline as the welding that came before it.

Preventive Rust Proofing Plans

The cheapest rust is the rust that never starts. Our proofing plans schedule an annual underbody inspection, touch up chips before they become holes and keep a thin protective coat on every exposed seam so the body stays quiet for many more seasons of driving. Each plan holds a clean record of every past check, so the history of the car travels with it and we can watch for a trouble spot before it ever becomes a repair. On the yearly visit we inspect the arches and rails, refresh the sealer where the winter has worn it thin and seal any new stone chip before moisture can slip beneath the colour coat. Owners on a plan bring their cars back with confidence, because prevention done on time holds the rust at the doorway rather than chasing it once it has already settled deep.
